Sean Franklin Ruiz

RUIZ ARREST REPORT

Work that began last April culminated in May with the arrest of a suspected Fort Walton Beach drug dealer on a long list of charges ranging from fleeing and eluding with disregard for the safety of others and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon to trafficking in heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, and tampering with evidence.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office K9 Sergeant and the U.S. Marshal’s Service attempted to make a traffic stop on wanted felon Sean Franklin Ruiz on April 5th near the intersection of Memorial Parkway and Miracle Strip Parkway, but Ruiz sped off, driving recklessly to escape. At that time, Ruiz was being south for weapons offenses and felony marijuana possession.

Deputies called off the pursuit for public safety reasons, but later found the vehicle abandoned near a wooded lot on Beal Parkway. OCSO K9 Rico alerted on the SUV and a search warrant later turned up a .32 caliber handgun, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and Ruiz’s mail inside. Nearby they also found two blue drawstring bags on the ground holding Mason jars of marijuana, heroin, methamphetamines, and suspected MDMA.

On April 20th, Ruiz was located at a Fort Walton Beach hotel on Miracle Strip Parkway and taken into custody. Deputies seized marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, scales and more than $3300 in cash, found wrapped in toilet paper and hidden behind the tank. He was released on bond three days later.
