LEWIS ARREST REPORT

A suspect is now in custody in connection with a stabbing over what the victim claims was a dispute over an unpaid drug debt.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the suspect, 36-year old Lequalisha Lewis of 404 Shirley Drive in Fort Walton Beach, contacted them and agreed to meet this morning at a business in Cinco Bayou.

Lewis was then arrested on an active warrant for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Investigators say Lewis stabbed 19-year old Aaron Rodriguez during a struggle September 20th outside Heather Glenn Apartments, 1607 Hunt Club Street.

Rodriguez says he owed Lewis $180 for four and a half grams of cocaine. He says Lewis had been calling him, trying to get his money.

Rodriguez told investigators he was riding his bike to his girlfriend’s apartment around 7:30 a.m. when he saw a red car that he knew Lewis frequently rides in. Rodriguez put up his bicycle and began running as Lewis got out of the passenger side of the car and pursued him. Rodriguez says Lewis pulled him to the ground, cutting him once on his left arm, and then stabbing him in the abdomen before fleeing.

The investigation is continuing.
