Sheriff Larry Ashley presented awards this week to local middle and high school students who produced winning videos for “The Greatest Save” Teen Safety program.

The public serve announcement entries focused on issues ranging from school shootings to protecting yourself from internet predators. It’s all part of a statewide competition designed to allow area schools to create compelling safety messages for their peers. The OCSO and its School Resource Officers are keen supporters of “The Greatest Save” program and its efforts to protect teens by boosting awareness of personal safety issues.

Pryor Middle School and Fort Walton Beach High School earned top place in their respective divisions. Ten schools took part in the competition, and the winners will now compete at the state level.
