BOYD ARREST REPORT

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance involving 52-year old suspect Michael Koch Boyd and his sister around 9 p.m. Friday night on Doyce Drive. The investigation would reveal that Boyd committed Aggravated Assault DOMV by pointing a small pistol at his sister and threatening to kill her. Boyd also assaulted another roommate by making threats. The sister fled the residence and contacted law enforcement.

Upon contact, Boyd refused to exit the home when ordered. The other roommate and Boyd’s wife were stuck in the residence and presumed to be held captive. The roommate was rescued from a second story window and led to safety. OCSO’s Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit responded to the scene to assist. Several hours of negotiation led to Boyd surrendering peacefully. He was transported to booking on charges of assault and aggravated assault with a weapon and later to the hospital after complaining of pains.

He was medically released and booked on charges of assault. Patrol completed a search warrant and later found the suspects gun, holster and some ammo. OCSO Street Crimes, CNU and SRT played a huge role in this successful resolution.
