The School Resource Officer at Meigs Middle School used a photo of a written bomb threat to catch the teen responsible for posting the message on a bathroom wall at Meigs Middle School May 17th.
The SRO sent copies of the photo depicting the writing to teachers and also visited classrooms to ask for students’ help. A teacher identified a student with virtually identical handwriting to that on the wall.
While being interviewed by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office SRO, the 15 year old said his father had told him people need to own up to the mistakes they make, and he admitted he had written the bomb threat.
Additional investigation work was done and the student was charged with disrupting a school function. In lieu of arrest, he was issued a Teen Court Referral.
