A Fort Walton Beach man working to help remodel a Publix grocery store faces multiple charges after being caught on camera breaking into the pharmacy storage area to steal prescription medications.
41-year old Jason Dewayne Jordan of 210 Texas Street is charged with two counts of burglary of a structure involving theft of medication, grand theft of controlled substances, trafficking in opium and criminal mischief. Employees at the Publix located at 610 North Eglin Parkway discovered a large amount of various prescription drugs missing from the pharmacy area April 20th. Surveillance video showed Jordan use a pry tool to enter the pharmacy April 15th and again April 20th. Investigators estimate Jordan took more than 35-hundred dollars worth of amphetamines, hydrocodone, and various bottle of oxycodone.
