CHIRINOS-CALIX ARREST REPORT

A Destin resident says two men forced their way into her apartment, held a gun to her head and a knife to her throat, and demanded money while ransacking her home. One suspect is in custody.

The 33-year old victim told deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office that she had dropped off her children at school when she heard a knock on the door around 9 a.m. at her apartment at 203 Ann Circle. When she opened the door to see who was there, she said two Hispanic males rushed in. She says she was restrained and threatened while they ransacked the house and assaulted her with a knife and gun. She says the pair ran out after not finding any cash, and another man fled from the scene in a truck. The truck was believed to be an older model beige Toyota Tundra.

Deputies quickly responded and set up a perimeter while searching the area. They located a man with ripped pants near Legion Drive who was identified as a suspect by a witness. 33-year old Santos Dejesus Chirinos-Calix of Houston Texas now faces multiple charges in connection with the crime. The investigation is continuing.
