The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Ft Walton Beach Police Department and other local law enforcement entities is aggressively investigating a rash of recent shootings. All evidence and information collected to date indicates none of these shootings are random acts, but are violent confrontations between acquaintances’ or at least individuals who are known to each other. There is no reason to believe a specific t…hreat exists to the general public regarding any of these shootings. However all of us should be gravely concerned with the ever increasing level of violence on our streets and in our neighborhoods. Because all of these cases are actively being investigated no additional details can be released at this time. Should information be developed indicating a threat to the general public exists public safety advisories will be issued immediately.
