The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man and woman connected to the armed robbery of an Alvin’s Island store in Destin Wednesday.

The pair entered the store together shortly after noon February 3rd and walked around looking at items. They met again at the back of the store and then the female left as the male put items into a basket for the cashier. As the cashier began removing the items, the man pulled out a handgun, took a cordless phone from in front of the register, and walked behind the register and took the cash drawer. He left the store heading east.

The armed robber was described as a thinly built white male, about 5’7″ tall with brown or green eyes and in his mid-twenties. He was wearing a dark “sock type” cap, red jacket, light colored shirt, and dark pants. The female who had been with him just prior to the robbery was described as a thin white female with long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing a blue jacket, dark shirt, and blue pants with a grey or white stripe on the legs and a black and white baseball cap with an emblem on the front.

Anyone with information on the armed robbery is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS, emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com, or by texting TIP214 plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).
