The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into an email sent to various Northwest Florida media outlets and several Okaloosa School District employees by an individual threatening to harm a student or students in the near future.
The first email was sent out at 6:23 p.m. this evening and a second identical email was resent a short time later.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office will have extra patrols at area schools and is also asking community members to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
The Okaloosa County School District will be doing a call out to parents and guardians early Friday morning.
OCSO investigators are actively working this case overnight and are being assisted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. We take all communicated threats of violence seriously and we will investigate until the source of these threats is identified and apprehended
