The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place at a Destin apartment complex early this morning.
Deputies were called to the Destin Emergency room after the victim, 23 year old Cavante Gale of 734 Legion Drive, was driven there by his roommate around 2:30 a.m.
Gale was then transferred to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for surgery on a gunshot wound to the chest.
OCSO Investigators interviewed the victim and his roommate and are still working to determine the sequence of events.
A search of the apartment revealed blood in several areas.
