O’MARA ARREST REPORT
A Fort Walton Beach area man wanted on a felony domestic violence warrant for chocking his girlfriend tried to get away from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office but was captured after a brief pursuit.
O’Mara is wanted on charges of kidnapping and domestic battery by strangulation. The victim says she called O’Mara’s other girlfriend on February 12th to tell her O’Mara was cheating on her. She says O’Mara then got upset and choked her until she nearly passed out. She told deputies he also held her down and would not allow her to leave. The victim posted what she says happened on Facebook, but refused to fill out a sworn statement for law enforcement.
A deputy with the OCSO Fugitive Warrants Unit spotted 21-year old Trenton O’Mara around 1 p.m. Tuesday on Tanager Road. He attempted a traffic stop but O’Mara took off in a red Pontiac.
After a brief pursuit O’Mara clipped a pole in a yard and was ultimately taken into custody near Green Acres Boulevard and Meadow Lane.
