A Crestview area man was taken into custody shortly after four p.m. this afternoon in connection with a domestic violence related incident at his home on Barnes Road.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies say 72-year old Thomas Davis Sr. of 6253 Barnes Road battered his wife earlier today with a wooden leg broken off a coffee table, then fired a shotgun at her, his son, and his daughter-in-law as they fled the scene. His daughter-in-law Sharon Davis was struck by a ricocheting pellet in the neck. His 67-year old wife suffered injuries from the beating. Both are undergoing treatment at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
Deputies were initially told Davis fled into the woods. Another witness thought he was still inside the house. Deputies set up a perimeter and began an area search while they kept an eye on the house. Movement was spotted in a window and Davis ultimately came surrendered to verbal commands to come out.
Charges are pending.
