GARDNER ARREST REPORT

A Kentucky man who says he was chaperoning a group of high school kids on Spring Break in
Destin is charged with holding an open house party where marijuana was scattered around the home
and the teens he was overseeing could drink alcohol.
55-year old Thomas Gardner of Louisville was arrested April 2nd after the Okaloosa County
Sheriff’s Office responded to a noise complaint around 11:30 p.m. at a home on Terra Cotta Way.
A deputy says he saw many individuals going in and out. As he got closer, several ran inside the
house and shut the door. The deputy rang the doorbell several times before it was finally opened. He
says he instantly smelled marijuana and saw it laying on the coffee table as well as on the kitchen
table. There were also liquor bottles and beer cans scattered around the house.
Gardner, the only person in the house found to be over the age of 21, said he was chaperoning the
students and knew they were in high school and consuming alcohol.
He’s charged with holding an open house party and possession of marijuana.
