A Crestview woman says she was unloading her groceries at Crestview area home when a man attacked her and tried to shove her into the trunk of her car.

The 32-year old victim suffered cuts and abrasions in the July 26 incident on Brown Place.

She told deputies the suspect first stood at the end of her driveway and asked if she needed help with her groceries and she told him no. She says he charged her and tried to push her into the trunk but she was able to force her way out as he punched her repeatedly in the back of the head and pulled her hair. The woman was finally able to get free and run to a neighbor’s home.

Witnesses in the area told deputies that they had seen a young black male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a gray t-shirt and black Nike shorts running west from the home around the time of the 5:30 p.m. attack. One witness says the man appeared to be around 6’3″ tall and weighed approximately 250 pounds.

The woman’s injuries were treated on scene by EMS before she was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center for evaluation.
