Deputies Honored for Life Saving Efforts
February 9, 2007 - Four Okaloosa County Deputies were presented with Life Saving Pins in a special ceremony held at the Sheriff's Office Administration Building. Deputies receiving Life Saving Pins included: Deputy Matt Abbott, Deputy Kenny Leavins, Deputy Matt Harrison, and Deputy Jack Oliver.

Charlie Morris presented a Life Saving Badge to Deputy Sheriff Jeff Morgan for
his efforts in saving the life of a 14 year old boy who almost drown in the Gulf
on June 7. Deputy Morgan responded to the scene immediately while on his way
home and assisted in retrieving the boy from the water and then administered
CPR, saving the boy's life. Deputy Morgan remained at the scene until the young
boy was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Deputy Morgan not
only filed the report, but visited the boy in the hospital. Mr. Mobley, the
boy's father, said that Deputy Morgan" gave me back the most important
thing in my life, my son." Mr. Mobley and his wife were also present at the
ceremony in which Deputy Morgan was recognized for his life saving efforts. The
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is proud of Deputy Morgan and his unselfish
actions in saving this young boy's life.
