Michelle "Shelly" Meadors

Meadors,15, was fatally injured after she was struck by a pickup truck that ran off of U.S. Highway 98 in Destin and onto the sidewalk on August 10, 2002.  The truck that struck her continued on eastbound without stopping. Witnesses described the vehicle as a full size pickup truck with extended cab, and pulling a small boat on a trailer.  A $7,000 reward is offered for information that helps lawmen find the driver of the hit and run vehicle.

Kymberly Dawn Thomas
CASE CLOSED WITH ARREST

Thomas was fatally injured after she was struck by an unknown vehicle on Airport Road in Destin at approximately 3:15 a.m. on January 6, 2002. The driver of the vehicle called 9-1-1 and identified himself as "Joe Black". Despite an intensive investigation, the person's true identity remains unknown. A $1,000 reward is offered for information that helps lawmen find the driver of the hit and run vehicle. 

 

Kim "Laurie" Ball

Ball's body was found in a canal at the end of County Road 393 on June 12, 1999.Her car, a 1997 black Honda Civic was discovered on June 10 at a home she was scheduled to clean on Holiday Isle.  Her purse and other contents of the car had apparently not been disturbed. A $1,000 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her murder.


Jewel Summerlin Melvin

Melvin, 71, was found murdered in her James Lee Boulevard, Crestview home on May 15, 1998. Her vehicle, a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis, was also stolen and later recovered in Wilkerson Bluff Road in Holt. There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her murder


Pluma Bell Sanford

Sanford, 73, was found murdered in her Fort Walton Beach home on August 15, 1997. Her vehicle, a 1992 Dodge sedan was also stolen and later recovered at a nearby shopping center.

 

Wayne Douglas Reynolds
CASE CLOSED WITH ARREST

Reynolds, 37, was found beaten to death in his home on the morning of January 4, 1996. There was no sign of a struggle or forced entry to his residence, located on South Avenue in Fort Walton Beach. It is known that the murder was drug-related. There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for his murder.

Ulai Sookruetai

Sookruetai, a teenager from Eglin AFB, vanished September 13, 1988 after telling a friend that a stranger had offered her a ride home from a Niceville convenience store. She was missing for approximately two months when her body was found on Eglin reservation property. It was not determined how she died.

Georgia Mae Bell

Bell, 59, disappeared from her Pensacola home on July 27, 1987. On October 4 1987, human bones were found near Baker and lab tests indicated a strong possibility that the bones belonged to Georgia Mae Bell. The skull indicated that the victim had been shot twice and possibly bludgeoned. Her car and credit cards were also stolen.


Leonard "Buddy" Phelps

Phelps, 59, was found beaten and shot outside of his home on Johns Sims in Niceville on October 4, 1981.

Bell, 85, was found bludgeoned to death at her home in Destin on January 5, 1977. The victim was apparently caught off guard by her assailant, who used a blunt object in the murder. The slaying occurred between 5 and 6 a.m. There was no indication of robbery in this case. 

Catherine Ainsworth

Ainsworth, 36, was found strangled to death on the floor of her Hopper Street, Niceville apartment on August 30, 1975.
