A Florida Traffic Safety Initiative
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is proud to be a member of Strike Force 98, a joint enforcement effort of twenty law enforcement agencies throughout the Gulf Coast Region of Florida's Panhandle. These agencies are working together to improve motorist safety along U.S. Highway 98. Special emphasis is being placed on DUI, unlawful speed, safety belt violations, and aggressive drivers. Periodic intensified enforcement events coupled with public notification through the media will be used to enhance law enforcement's ability to provide a safer driving environment on U.S. Highway 98. The goals of Strike Force 98 are to reduce traffic crashes, fatalities and injuries along Highway 98 by means of increased law enforcement visibility, enforcement, and public awareness.
