Four individuals have been arrested after the Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug
Task Force served a search warrant in Crestview yesterday (Thursday). The search
warrant was obtained as the result of an investigation in recent weeks aided by
information from citizens and confide
ntial sources.
Cocaine in both power and "crack" form, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and more than $2,000 cash believed to be illegal drug proceeds were seized during service of the search warrant at 3123 East Chestnut Avenue.
Arrested at that address were Johnnie Lorenzo Griffin (pictured top left), age 26 (8-16-1976); Kenny Billy Brown (pictured top right), age 37 (3-16-1966); Jerry Griffin (pictured bottom left), age 51 (8-9-1951); and Mary Griffin (pictured bottom right), age 49 (3-31-1954), all of the Chestnut Avenue address..
Johnnie Griffin and Kenny Billy Brown are charged with Possession of Cocaine
with Intent to Distribute. Griffin is also charged with Marijuana and Paraphernalia
counts. Brown, who jumped from a second-story window in an attempt to avoid
apprehension, is also charged with Resisting Without Violence. Jerry Griffin and Mary
Griffin are each charged with Possession of Cocaine and
Possession of Paraphernalia.
Kenny Billy Brown, born in Jamaica, has been identified as a member of a Jamaican drug ring based in central Florida. That operation is believed to have been transporting crack cocaine into Okaloosa County since 1999, and at least ten of its members have been arrested by the Okaloosa County Drug Task Force since that time.
