An undercover drug transaction in a Crestview parking lot has led to felony charges against a local resident. James Thomas Edge, age 65 (5-8-37), of 5786 J.V. Woolley Road, Crestview, was arrested yesterday afternoon (Thursday afternoon) a few minutes after 4:00 o'clock as he attempted to purchase five pounds of marijuana from the trunk of an undercover law enforcement vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
The Okaloosa County Drug Task Force received information this week that Edge was in the market to purchase marijuana. A confidential source negotiated an arrangement in which Edge would receive five pounds of marijuana for $4,000 cash.
Edge was arrested on the spot and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Purchase and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
